Position: Software Test Engineer Location: Flower mound, TX – 75028 Duration: Contract to Hire Responsibilities Primary responsibilities will be to verify and validate next generation operating room integration and workflow systems for operating room integration systems, including audio/video routers, video converters, and audio/video conferencing equipment, application servers based on product requirements, customer expectations and industry standards. The test engineer will closely work with software engineering, system integration and project and product management to develop software that meets customer and system requirements. Participates in the analysis of software requirements. Writes detailed test specifications and protocols. Traces all requirements to specific test cases and documents test coverage matrix. Reviews test specifications and protocols with software engineers. Executes test protocols and tracks results. Identifies and describes software defects and problems. Determines steps to reproduce problems. Documents and tracks problems in the bug database. Configures and uses test tools to support and automate the execution of test protocols. Maintains lab facilities and controls the test environment. Works with software engineers to troubleshoot problems and integrate multiple software features on target hardware platforms. Provides inputs into verification estimates, plans, and schedules. Tracks own verification progress and reports status and issues to R&D manager. Remains up-to-date on latest software verification technologies and methodologies. Participates in continuous process improvement activities and initiatives. Minimum Technical Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in related field or equivalent, 8+ years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in all aspects of Software Development Lifecycle: requirements, architecture, design, development, test, launch and product sustainment/customer support Technical Skills: Understanding of various verification methods, including boundary conditions checking, functional testing, capacity testing, performance benchmarking, security and safety validation, robustness, and usability evaluation. Proven ability to write clear technical documentation Ability to work both independently and as a team member Programming languages such as C#, C++, Visual Basic, and Java Experience with basic networking concepts Experience in SOAP UI , Selenium Working knowledge of development environments such as Microsoft Visual Studio .Net Experience with testing Web sites, web applications, and REST-SOAP services using technologies such as DHTML, Javascript, CSS, and XML Understanding of database servers and applications technologies based on RDBMS Programming knowledge on operating systems including Microsoft Windows XP, Unix, and Linux Knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design methodologies including the Unified Modeling Language (UML) Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization Why Kelly®?
