Manufacturuing Engineer GENERAL STATEMENT With assistance or guidance from Manager or Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for converting engineering document into a plan with would allow manufacturing, production control, purchasing and material control to produce a product which is of desired quality, quantity, at least cost, and on a timely basis, utilizing existing equipment. Requires good liaison with vendors and in-house department. DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES 1. With assistance or guidance from Manager or Senior Manufacturing Engineering Prepares Job Instruction Sheets to specify, in detail the plans for the manufacture of components and assemblies. Information specified includes material call out, sequence of operations, machines departments, and location points to be used at each operation. 2. Prepares operation sketch sheets, as needed, for the purpose of avoiding misinterpretation of manufacturing requirements, processing and engineering drawing intent. The sketches include requires views, location points, operation descriptions, machine call-out departments, work centers, informative notations, dimensions and tolerances. 3. Responsible for tooling required to cover assigned projects. Initiates and designs tooling as required. Estimates tool costs and lead time. 4. Coordinates Manufacturing Engineering activities with other personnel in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Control, Production, and Purchasing. 5. Conducts methods studies to develop time standards for all operations. 6. Initiates requests for engineering changes to resolve processing, manufacturing, or related problems. 7. Responsible for the disposition of rejected materials, after review by board. 8. Generates product structures and item masters for input to computer. 9. Understand basic information on System VI and Ph.D. pertaining to manufacturing engineering JIS System computer. 10. Estimates cost of required parts and materials. 11. Performs special projects as job requires.
